Dovey Group announces pre-lets at new Cardiff Scheme

Cardiff-based developer Dovey Estates has signed two major pre-lets to Tesco Extra and Domino’s Pizza at its new 14,500 sq ft commercial scheme, which is currently under construction at Maes-y-Coed Road, Cardiff.

Strong interest is also being shown in the remaining 4,500 sq ft of office space available within the high-quality two-storey development, says Mike Baroth, Chief Executive of Dovey Estates.

“We are delighted to have secured two very high-quality tenants ahead of practical completion of the building. This is a superb location for both companies and will provide much-needed retail facilities for a residential area that has undergone considerable expansion in recent years,” Mr Baroth added.

Fletcher Morgan acted for Dovey Estates; EJ Hales represented Tesco.

John James of Fletcher Morgan said, “The availability of plentiful parking and the excellent road links to the building offices are leading to very strong interest in the office element of this development.”

Dovey Estates is a member of the Cardiff-based Dovey Group that was established more than 30 years ago by current chairman Mr Leonard Dovey. It is currently engaged in a range of major commercial developments in South and West Wales and the West Country.

These include more than 90,000 sq ft of campus style offices at Neptune Court, Cardiff Bay, where a third and final phase is due to begin shortly, The Link Trade Park, Cardiff, a flagship site for The Dick Lovett Group; the 19-acre mixed use redevelopment of the former Dairy Crest creamery site, Carmarthenshire; and a planned 45,000 sq ft retail development at Burrows Yard, Aberavon.
