CARDIFF-based Dovey Group has been named Welsh Property Company of the Year by industry magazine Estates Gazette.

The company, which is behind a range of commercial and residential-led developments throughout South Wales, is led by Leonard Dovey and Mike Baroth.

Mr Baroth, Managing Director of Dovey Group, said, “The award means a great deal to us, particularly as we were selected by the commercial property industry as a whole.

“We have been investing in and developing property for many years, but in recent years we have enjoyed a period of unprecedented growth and success for the company.

“We are currently involved in several major projects in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Cardiff and South East Wales. It is a very exciting period in our history,” said Mr Baroth.

Development projects include Whitland Green Business Park, Carmarthenshire, which is seeing the revitalisation of the 18-acre former Dairy Crest creamery complex; and Burrows Yard, Aberavon, where it is developing 40,000 sq ft of retail and has already signed anchor tenant Farm Foods.

It recently completed the 90,000 sq ft Neptune Court office scheme in Cardiff Bay, is planning comprehensive mixed-use redevelopment in Tenby and has speculatively developed a 12,200 sq ft office and retail scheme in Maes-y-Coed Road, Cardiff.
